NEDC Committed To Shielding Needs

At NEDC Fabricating Solutions we are committed to all your shielding application needs. EMI shielding gaskets are used to seal mating surfaces while at the same time filling gaps, seams, or other imperfections to the two surfaces. There are many factors involved in selecting the right material to be used such as temperature, application method, and chemical compatibility. The engineers/designers also need to be aware of the contact resistance required by a gasket so that it maintains conductivity with the housing flanges. Because there are variations of the surfaces for which the EMI gaskets are intended for, there needs to be some degree of flex or compression within the EMI gasket. Although increasing the compression of the gasket improves contact resistance, too much closure force can result in hard to operate doors or possible case bowing. The majority of gaskets will perform at a good efficiency when compressed between 30 and 70 percent of its original normal height. For over twenty-five years NEDC Fabricating Solutions has been perfecting EMI gasket applications and can provide cost effective solutions to all your needs.
