PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVES

Gaskets and cushion pads are often provided with pressure sensitive adhesives to facilitate the assembly process. There are multiple forms of adhesives including acrylic, rubber based, and silicone based pressure sensitive adhesives applied to specific gaskets and cushion pads. Acrylic sensitive adhesives form the majority of adhesives supplied on gaskets and can withstand temperature changes within the range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Silicone based adhesives tend to be more expensive, usually have a shorter shelf life, and have lower adhesive levels on most substrates. They do however remain useful in the temperature ranges of –80 degrees F to 400 degrees F. Because NEDC Fabricating Solutions has on premise water jet cutting capability we are able to select and coordinate specific prototype gaskets utilizing conductive compounds to meet your entire adhesive and EMI shielding needs.
